Description:
The Academic Advisor I will assist academic departments/units with verbal or written
academic plans, advisement interpretation, and implementation of University Policies and procedures in the areas of student enrollment and
evaluation. The Academic Advisor I should have thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Advisors at this level will use
Banner but more importantly they understand how databases work then to have practical experience.

The responsibilities of the
position include, but are not limited to the following:

Advisement:

  • Advise student athletes about requirements and
    selection of course.
  • Monitors class progress and assigns necessary tutoring.
  • Help maintain files and records for each term
    and processes all grade reports.

Student-Athlete Advisory Committee:

  • Oversee student athlete advisory
    committee.
  • Coordinate all associated meeting and events.

New Student-Athlete Orientation:

  • Coordinate new student
    athlete orientations.
  • Serve as liaison to University orientation activities.

Continuing Eligibility:

  • Monitor
    continuing eligibility throughout the year as it relates to certain teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Associate AD-Student
    Athlete Development and/or Sr. Associate AD-Compliance and Sports Services/SWA.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience; or a
combination of education and related experience.
