Summary of Job Duties:
Under the
direction of the Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Services, the Academic Counselor will monitor academic progress of
student-athletes in compliance with NCAA, Southeastern Conference and the University of Arkansas rules and regulations. The Academic
Counselor will work with coaches, staff and professors to foster an atmosphere that retains women’s swimming and diving, softball, and
volleyball student-athletes and culminates in graduation from the University. This person may also be responsible for supervising a graduate
assistant. Duties will include advising student-athletes, monitoring study hall, coordinating graduation plans, monitoring continuing
eligibility including APR, and assisting with on campus recruiting.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential
job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with
others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited
    institution of higher education
  • At least one year of experience in athletic academic assistance

Preferred
Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Background in education, psychology,
    and/or counseling
  • Experience working with student-athletes at SEC and/or Power Five conference institutions

Knowledge,
Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal
    skills
  • Strong organizational and administrative abilities
  • Ability to work with students and staff from diverse
    backgrounds
