Job Description:

The Academic Services Coordinator provides a wide variety of administrative support for the Academic Success Center (ASC) in order to assist in the effective delivery of academic services to all students. The ASC Academic Services Coordinator role requires a high-level of professional interaction with ASC staff, student users, ASC student employees, other members of the campus community and visitors. The person in this role offers a number of key ASC services and thus positive impressions are critical.

Responsibilities include:

Test Proctoring Services – administer tests proctored in the ASC by facilitating student test registration, scheduling the times, locations and staff for the proctoring tests, communicating with faculty, receiving, storing, recording and returning the tests securely. This requires high volumes of communication with faculty and students and a high level of attention to detail.

Note Taking Services: oversee the ASC’s Note Taking program by searching for and evaluating peer notetakers, hiring and training peer notetakers, checking that notes are uploaded correctly and promptly, documenting and tracking honorariums for peer notetakers. This requires high volumes of communication with faculty and students.

Communications – Provides administrative support for the ASC communications such as answering telephones, assisting visitors, instructing students on the process of making ASC service requests and resolving and/or referring to a range of problems and inquiries.

Associate’s degree required with 1-3 years of office support related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Preferred experience working with diverse learners (students with disabilities, adult learners, etc.).
  • Effective in a busy office environment and able to communicate well with students, faculty, staff and families.
  • The role requires organizing and coordinating skills, quality verbal and written communications, database management, records maintenance and very strong interpersonal/human relations skills.
  • Knowledge working in a Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Google (email, docs, calendar).
  • Demonstrate a high degree of tact, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Provide exceptional organizational and office management skills, with attention to detail to ensure a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability and willingness to work with minimal direction and to anticipate and meet organizational needs. Persistence in seeking solutions to problems both within and beyond areas of direct responsibility.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the College community and external contacts.
  • Advanced level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Drive (Docs, Calendar) Google based email

This is a full-time, 9-month appointment. Appointment is scheduled to begin mid-August through mid-May.
