The Cummings School of Nursing and Health
Sciences at Endicott College is seeking a
Director of Clinical Education to join their close-knit community of nurse educators who
care deeply about the preparation of nurses at all levels.

The Director of Clinical Education oversees the Clinical Placement
Office (CPO) within the Cummings School of Nursing and Health Sciences. The CPO secures all clinical and internship placements for all
nursing programs. This position is part of the leadership team within the School of Nursing and serves on committees as appointed.

Primary responsibilities include:

  1. Manage all activities associated with the
    Clinical Placement Office and the placement and oversight of undergraduate and graduate students in clinical and internship:
    1. Develops and maintains strong collegial working relationships with clinical coordinators, clinical practice partners, and didactic
      course faculty. 
    2. Routinely visits clinical sites to conduct site and instructor evaluations for ongoing quality assurance of
      appropriateness and effectiveness of these sites.
    3. Works with the Associate Dean and faculty to assure clinical sites are
      appropriate in number and skill acquisition for the corresponding didactic course. 
    4. Registers students for clinical each
      semester following the guidelines set forth by the faculty.
    5. Supervises the Clinical Coordinators.
  2. Coordinate
    all hiring, onboarding, mentoring and evaluation of clinical adjunct faculty:
    1. Recruits and interviews all adjunct clinical faculty
      to ensure appropriate and consistent delivery of the curriculum in the clinical setting. 
    2. Orients and mentors adjunct faculty
      in the delivery of clinical course content and the implementation of appropriate instructional methodologies to ensure continuity across
      course sections and the overall curriculum.
    3. Follows all Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing (BORN) policies and
      procedures in relation to clinical faculty and course waivers. Prepares tables for BORN yearly report. 
    4. Reviews adjunct
      clinical faculty course evaluations for appropriateness of ongoing clinical appointment.
    5. Works with the Administrative Assistant to
      assure all hiring paperwork is complete.
    6. Assures clinical adjunct faculty files are updated and accurate. 
  3. Advises up to 25 students

Qualifications:

  • Written and oral communications, problem-solving, and analytical
    ability typically acquired through attainment of a bachelor’s degree in nursing, Master’s in Nursing Administration or Education
    preferred.
  • RN License in the State of Massachusetts;
  • Three years of clinical nursing experience;
  • Prior teaching
    experience in higher education;
  • Ability to lead and collaborate
  • Outstanding customer service skills; true commitment to
    providing solutions in a timely way;
  • Ability prioritize work based on urgency and demand;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Proficient in Google Suite (Forms, Docs, Drive, Sheets, Gmail).
