Overview

A Program Coordinator II assists and promotes the degrees and programs within the Department of Technical Education (TECH) at Utah State University – with specific focus upon technical education programs at USU Eastern – Price. The position will be coordinated through the College of Agriculture and Applied Science’s Student Services Center and will work closely with the faculty within the TECH department to advise and retain students.

The focus will be on technical education programs and will work closely with other technical education advisors at the Price, Moab, and Blanding campuses. The technical education programs articulate into stackable, and online degree programs, such as General Technology AAS, and Technology Systems BS programs. 

The Program Coordinator II will be part of the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences Student Services team, with the direct supervisor being the TECH Associate Department Head at USU Eastern.

Responsibilities

50% – Academic Advising

  •  Provide academic advisement; inform students of program requirements; make referrals when appropriate; complete forms; demonstrate proficiency using advising/academic platforms used within student services; maintain confidentiality; keep student records; participate in ongoing department and university training.

30% – Student Recruitment / Marketing of Programs

  • Coordinate degree/program material development; provide student recruitment activities; manage a marketing program for technical education programs

20% – Student Support

  • Provide specialized services to technical education at-risk students and develop programs to enhance their learning and social experiences at USU.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus two years of relevant work experience; or a master’s degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required.

  • Prior experience in post-secondary education environment
  • Prior experience with student advising
  • Prior experience with student recruitment
  • Prior experience with marketing of educational programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and entrepreneurial spirit 
  • Good analytical, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to pay attention to detail while completing repetitive tasks
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Some travel required (occasional overnight)
