Job Summary and Description
Performs moderate complex work providing advising to students from entry to completion. Responsible for implementing the academic advising strategies and achievement of student learning outcomes. May provide services for special populations.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of relevant experience, education and training that equates to the required degree.
- Two years’ of related experience, preferably in a college setting.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Four years of related experience.
- Three (3) years of professional experience working for a TRIO federal program or similar related program/project serving low-income and potential first-generation college
students (Adults 19 years of age & older). - Experience providing academic advising services and college, career, financial aid, and economic literacy information to an assigned caseload of adult Participants who are secondary school dropouts or graduates with no postsecondary enrollment.
- Experience advising and assisting college-ready low-income and potential first-generation adult students (ages 19 & older) with the college admissions and financial aid process individually.
- Professional or personal experience in overcoming barriers similar to those confronting Project Participants.
Motor Vehicle Report is required in addition to background check and drug screen
