Student Success Coach
Position Purpose
The primary objective of the position is to assist students with their path to graduation, and
is on the front line in fostering student success. This is a five-year grant funded position, and will be part of a team that assists
students to become active participants in the development of their college experience by fostering connections between academic programs and
the co-curricular activities, internships and research opportunities.
Essential Duties Summary
- Assist
students with developing Student Success Plans, degree plans, selection of majors, and regular degree audits; - Provide, in
conjunction with faculty advisors, help in course selection and short-term academic planning.; - Helps students connect with College
resources and help students learn when and how to connect proactively with College resources; C - Collaborate with faculty and staff
to ensure seamless advising for students; - Advise students of college policies as related to academic programs;
- Provide
outreach to students identified as needing help in the early warning system; - Provide assistance in evaluation of First-year
experience and Center for Success activities; – – - Encourage self-advocacy on part of the students;
- Ensure that grant/student
related documentation data is entered in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s
degree required with at least 3-5 years experience. - Master’s Degree in Education, Human Services, Counseling, or Related Field,
preferred - Minimum two years working with college students in a diverse education setting from the following Advising, tutoring,
coaching college student experience; - Experience with success and retention initiatives in an academic setting.
