Transfer Transitions Coordinator
faculty position. The position reports directly to the Assistant Director for Student Engagement in the College of
Business. The purpose of this position is to provide overall management of the College’s recruitment processes, including the
recruitment of transfer students and the cultivating of external partnerships to build the College’s recruitment pipeline.
This position is responsible for the coordination of tasks related to the recruitment of students to the College of Business. Tasks
include: transfer student recruitment support, including one-on-one coaching and support for prospective students, unofficial credit
evaluations, cultivation of partnerships with community colleges, and implementation of recruitment campaigns; cultivation of external
community-based partnerships to build the College’s recruitment pipeline. This position will participate in strategic planning efforts
that support the mission, vision, and goals for the College of Business as it pertains to recruitment. This position may be based in
Corvallis, OR or Portland, OR. Regular travel is required between both locations to support recruitment efforts, programming, and events.
Position Duties
- Coaches
prospective undergraduate transfer students pursuing majors in business and design through phone, email, in-person, or on-site appointments
(at community colleges). - Conducts unofficial credit evaluations for prospective students.
- Assists prospective students
with navigating OSU’s application and orientation processes. - Provides guidance regarding experiential opportunities, student
success strategies, and career planning information to students interested in pursuing a College of Business degree program. - Conducts college-level application reviews of denied applicants to recommend admission or confirm denial.
- Develops systems and
processes to generate efficiencies within the College’s recruitment processes. - Works within OSU systems and makes
recommendations for improvement to the student experience. - Oversees the process of updating and maintaining transfer student guides
and credit articulation tables on an annual basis. - Assists in developing marketing and communication materials, including call/text
campaigns, emails, and print material. - Partners with the College of Business Advising team, and builds and maintains relationships
with OSU departments and units. - Builds and maintains relationships with community colleges to create partnerships that
will result in increased enrollment. - Participates in university-sponsored recruitment events.
- Assists in the planning and
execution of college-sponsored recruitment events. - Maintains support of transfer students following their transition from community
college to the College of Business. - Develops and maintains partnerships with community-based organizations to strengthen the
College’s recruitment pipeline for first-generation and historically underrepresented minorities. - Collaborates with Student
Engagement team members on K-12 programming, particularly as it relates to logistical support. - Assists in developing the
College’s strategy for K-12 programming as it relates to recruitment of prospective students.

- Collaborates with the Assistant Director of
Student Engagement in planning programs that contribute to the College’s mission. - Provides orientation, transition, and
retention expertise to College of Business and programmatic efforts. - Coordinates student work schedules and trains, supervises,
mentors, and evaluates Transfer Student Ambassadors; disciplines or effectively recommends discipline. - Writes letters of
recommendation, as requested.
- Collaborates with the Assistant Director of
Minimum/Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
from an accredited university. - Two years of professional experience in higher education student services, including career
services, student recruitment, admissions, EOP, TRIO, academic programs or academic advising, and/or financial aid. - Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in higher education recruitment and advising, particularly as it relates to transfer
students. - Previous experience in supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
- Previous experience in developing and
maintaining partnerships with external organizations and departments (i.e. community-based organizations, community colleges, university
departments, etc). - Knowledge of best practices engaging K-12 students and families.
- A demonstrated commitment to promoting
and enhancing diversity. - Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Excellent teamwork skills.
- High computer proficiency; including: strong MS office experience with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and working knowledge of Outlook and
Windows/Mac. - Ability to work with ambiguity.
- Ability to learn and work within OSU system.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in BANNER SIS, MyDegrees, SLATE,
etc. - Graduate degree in Business, College Student Services Administration, or other relevant field.
- Previous experience in
academic advising. - An ability and willingness to learn new programs and applications quickly.
- A strong attention to
detail. - A knowledge of best practices in admissions processes.
- Bilingual; fluent in both Spanish and English.
