implementation and supervision of the federal Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) program to achieve program goals and objectives.
Duties include assisting the director of veterans services in the implementation of VUB program grant requirements;
providing leadership in the absence of the director; working with veteran-serving agencies to recruit and screen potential VUB participants;
referring VUB participants to external resources; providing direct services for students, including intake and advising for current and
prospective participants; assisting participants with applications for VA education benefits, FAFSA, college admission and military
transcripts; and completing data entry, data analysis and program reports.
This position may be required to periodically work
evenings and weekends, including registration and the annual commencement.
Requirements include a
bachelor’s degree; three years of work experience in an educational administrative role and experience helping people overcome
barriers similar to those experienced by project participants; excellent computer, MS Office, organizational, mathematical and human
relations skills; and a valid driver’s license. Preference will be given to applicants with a master’s degree in education,
